“Our Cartoon President,” executive-produced by Stephen Colbert, was an animated send-up of the first Trump presidency. I was brought on during pre-production to help establish the show’s painted style and graphics treatment. After being promoted to Lead Background Designer, I continued to design and paint while also managing a team of seven background designers and a handful of offsite freelancers. I was responsible for breaking down scripts/animatics, handing out assignments, training new hires in the show’s style.
