I’m a Hawai’i-born, Filipino-American background painter based in New York, heavily influenced by comics, cinema, kung fu and classic illustration.
In addition to my skills as a designer and painter, I’ve also held leadership positions. As Lead Background Designer (Our Cartoon President) and Art Director (Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out The News) I have experience with hiring and managing both onsite and remote artists, creating key art and various promotional and social media material, and meeting deliverable deadlines.
In 2024 I was selected to be part of the inaugural class for the Titmouse Foundation’s “Future Art Directors” program, which further refined my skills in style guide creation, script/animatic breakdown, color scripting, interdepartmental communication and conflict resolution.
While I’ve worked on shows for a variety of demographics, I’m most at home exploring the sophisticated color palettes and dynamic lighting on adult-oriented action shows.
When I’m not working, I can be found writing/drawing/reading comics, obsessing over movies on Letterboxd, or playing the piano. If I’m back in Hawai’i, I’ll be trying (and likely failing) to surf.
I’ve lately tried to make all of my career decisions with this key phrase in mind:
Make cool shit with cool people.
